SenracEntProdzLLC: A Musical Journey
Student Portfolio
This piece was influenced by the music I listen to in general, and how it moves within my soul. The styles I used to describe my piece is more inspirational and uplifting type of music. When you listen to my music it will put a smile on your smile on your face. The format I feel will work best with this piece is an uplifting musical, a soundtrack to a movie, and a background musical piece in any commercial or TV show.
For the structural piece in the rhythm and bass came about by me listening to a combination of chords until I found the ones that connected together. I wanted the sounds to merge with one another in unison and as for the meter, it has related bars within the beat of the music.
The harmonies that I used in this piece were the chords of F minor and Bb minor. My melody and harmony were matched together with the intention of merging them to sound as one chord. The harmonies and the melodies relate to the production with the chord strength as the keys parallel with the chords to create a solid sound.
My audio for this track is a Lasko fan as well as tapping and scratching on the speakers of my MacBook Pro. The way I decided to go about doing this was bringing my fan towards the MacBook Pro as I was tapping and scratching. The difficulties that I faced were the frequencies was interfering with the complete sound of the track. So I had to configure the frequencies within the EQ section so that the sound would be in unison with the whole track.
In the final composition, I decided to use a tape delay and a reverb as well as more multiplier and based effect on my tracks to give them a unique sound. I also used the EXS24 and a few other compressors, as well as used the EQ’s to tone the frequencies in the tracks. Also, I quantized some tracks appropriately so that everything may sound like one without any clippings. I went with a reverb and delay effect on my tracks to give the sound quality a specific smooth groove and rhythm.
